In Pictures: Easter Rising parade in Belfast

The 1916 Easter Rising commemoration parade in Belfast.

The parades commemorate the 1916 uprising by Republicans against the British, who were then in control of the whole of Ireland.

The main parade made its way through Milltown cemetery where speeches were held at the renovated County Antrim memorial rather then at the Republican plot.

Speaking at the event, Sinn Fein chairman Declan Kearney said: "We can stop history repeating itself by leading on the priority for an inclusive reconciliation process, in which all sections of our society listen and engage unconditionally with each another, and on the basis of equality and mutual respect," he said.
