Tobias Harris and Charles Jenkins have a lot in common:

New Yorkers.

Played their best ball on Long Island.

Selected in the 2011 NBA draft.

Traded Thursday.

Harris, 20, a second-year forward out of Tennessee who graduated from Half Hollow Hills West, was traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Orlando Magic as part of the J.J. Redick deal.

Jenkins, 23, Hofstra's all-time leading scorer, was traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Philadelphia 76ers. The guard was drafted 44th overall in 2011, 25 spots after Harris was taken. Golden State, which is trying to get under the NBA's luxury-tax threshold, received cash and a protected second-round pick from Philadelphia.

The 6-8 Harris is averaging 4.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game this season. The 6-3 Jenkins, who has played sparingly, is averaging 1.7 points.

The Magic agreed to trade veteran shooting guard Redick, center Gustavo Ayon and reserve point guard Ish Smith to the Bucks in exchange for Doron Lamb, Beno Udrih and Harris.

Big names stay put

The stars rumored to be on the move at the trade deadline went nowhere. The Hawks' Josh Smith, the Celtics' Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce and the Lakers' Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard didn't get traded.

The Celtics traded injured guard Leandro Barbosa and center Jason Collins to the Wizards for Jordan Crawford. The Raptors traded for Sebastian Telfair, who starred at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn. The Suns got a second-round draft pick and the rights to center Hamed Haddadi. -- Combined news services
